Same Difference

X Factor finalists and pop sensations Same Difference finally unleash their debut single ‘We R One’, released via Syco Music/SonyBMG.

‘We R One’ is the kind of pop anthem the world has been crying out for since the turn of the millennium. Laden with uplifting hooks and feel good harmonies, 23 year old Sean and 19 year old Sarah prove they have certainly graduated the school of reality TV with distinction, and are destined for pop royalty.

The band are unashamed of the pure pop sound the single exudes, something which comes naturally to the siblings. Sean explains “I say go for it. Everyone’s too worried about looking cool. So many people live behind what they perceive of themselves and what they think other people perceive them to be… But they should just let it all hang out.”

Following last year’s X Factor series, which saw the band, mentored by Simon Cowell reach the final of the competition, Same Difference have been living the life they always dreamed of.

At the start of the year the band travelled across the country as part of the massive X Factor Live tour. The tour visited packed arenas all over the UK, with the duo recreating their best loved performances from their time on the show, receiving enthusiastic reviews.

As the tour drew to a close, Simon Cowell and his team were left so impressed that they immediately set the band to work on their debut album. Travelling to Europe to work with those best educated in pop wizardry, incuding Quiz Larossi (Diana Ross, Westlife, Shayne Ward) Pete Waterman (Kylie, Bananarama, Steps) and Metro (Take That, Girls Aloud, Cher) to name a few, the siblings crafted a selection of pop marvels.

The results of these sessions can be found on the bands’ debut album, aptly titled ‘Pop,’ released on December 1st. Complex but uncomplicated, retro and modern, it’s an album which will wipe the smiles off the faces of the doubters but put smiles back on a generation who’ve longed for pure pop. Sarah says “We’re so proud of the album, we’ve worked really hard and we think it’s going to surprise people! We’ve worked with some of the best people in the business and we hope to bring some joy back into pop.”

As the nation feels the squeeze of looming economic woes, there’s never been a better time to let go and have some fun!
