âAs fresh and creative as the stuff he wrote 30 years agoâ - Sunday Times
2008 has been something of a renaissance year for Paul Weller; his critically acclaimed No 1 album â22 Dreamsâ is on course to outsell âStanley Roadâ, his most successful solo record to date, and his live show is delighting sell-out audiences the world over.
Wellerâs new single is a âdouble A sideâ featuring All I Wanna Do and Push It Along plus a previously unreleased track Big Brass Buttons co-written by and featuring Primal Screamâs Bobby Gillespie. In addition to the 3-track CD there will be 2 limited edition 7â singles â one in the old-school pink Island Records bag, the other a different art-worked bag featuring an acoustic version of All I Wanna Do with the b-side featuring an acoustic cover version of Manfred Mannâs Pretty Flamingo.
Paul is currently limbering up for his âworldâ tour â including Australia where he hasnât played live since 1985 (when in The Style Council), plus visits to Japan, USA and Europe. His heavy tour schedule culminates a UK tour throughout November including 3 nights at Brixton Academy (24/25/26 Nov).
Itâs been an amazing year for Paul, celebrating his 50th birthday and releasing what is being hailed as the best solo album of his career with almost unanimous praise across the board.
