Moby

Moby releases a new single, Ooh Yeah, on 24th November 2008. Following the release of Last Night Remixed, the single features a brand new radio mix from Jeremy Wheatley plus remixes from France’s Kris Menace, Uncle Buck, Chopstick and Sheffield’s D. Ramirez (full tracklisting below).

Remixing has been at the heart of the Moby machine for fifteen years now. In 1992 alone, Moby mixed everyone from The B52s and The Prodigy and Brian Eno to Jam & Spoon and Michael Jackson.

So it is fitting that the original track described by Moby as “slightly reminiscent of late 70s, early 80s down tempo disco, you know, the sort of thing that you would hear if you were to go over to like Halston’s house in 1978 before going out to Studio 54” has been handed over to some of today’s dance stars and given the full remix treatment.

The video for the track, directed by Matteo Bernardini is the winning entry to a worldwide competition Moby held via his MobyGratis site. The director of the winning film, chosen by Moby to be the official video, won $10,000.

MobyGratis is a film music website, spearheaded by Moby (himself an experimental film student in college) which will allow film students, not-for-profit filmmakers and visual artists to incorporate Moby's music into video and film on a gratis basis.
