McFly

McFly are delighted to announce that their forthcoming single ‘Do Ya’ has been chosen as the official song for this year's Children In Need appeal.

The third track taken from current album ‘Radio:ACTIVE’, released in September, ‘Do Ya’ continues to evolve McFly's sound with a heavier, contemporary rock production, yet retains the band's trademark infectious pop hooks and warm vocal harmonies.

"’Do Ya’ is one of my all time favourite McFly tracks and one of the best songs we’ve ever written!" says singer Tom Fletcher.

For Children In Need, ‘Do Ya’ comes backed with a specially recorded cover of The Faces' '70s classic ‘Stay With Me’, with the profits from the sale of both tracks donated directly to the charity.

McFly will be appearing throughout the show performing both songs on BBC1's Children In Need night on Friday 14th November. They will open the show at 7pm with a live performance of ‘Stay With Me’ and then dash to a waiting helicopter at their own expense from West London to the Birmingham NEC to continue their Radio:ACTIVE UK arena tour. From there, they will then fly back to TV Centre in London with a†BBC film crew in tow to perform ‘Do Ya’ live in the show, which is broadcast until 2am.

McFly's involvement with Children In Need follows two successful singles for BBC charities Comic Relief and Sport Relief. Both 2005's ‘All About You/You've Got A Friend’ for Comic Relief and 2006's ‘Please, Please/Don'tStop Me Now’ for Sport Relief reached No.1 in the UK charts.

McFly sent shockwaves throughout the music industry in July by becoming the first contemporary act to give away an exclusive 10-track version of their album Radio:ACTIVE with almost 2.5million copies of The Mail On Sunday. A deluxe version of the album, released on McFly’s own Super Records label, was released in September. Radio:ACTIVE has already spawned two huge hit singles in ‘One For The Radio’ and ‘Lies’. McFly begin their UK arena tour in Sheffield on November 7th.

‘Do Ya/Stay With Me’ is physically released on Monday 24th November, but will be available to pre-order a as two-track download from the night of 14th November from leading online store 7Digital and by texting CIN to 78789 (1.50 for both tracks).
