As well as having one of the biggest selling debut albums of 2006, James Morrison was also the standalone biggest selling British male solo artist of that year. Now, two years on, heâs back with his new single You Make It Real.
ÂThe soaring You Make It Real showcases that incredible voice thatâs unlike any other. Itâs a song about that significant other, who keeps you in check when your life is going to hell around you. It was co-written by James and Paul Barry and produced by Grammy award-winning producer Mark Taylor.
Jamesâ debut Undiscovered went straight in at Number 1 in the UK album chart in July 2006 and went on to sell over two million copies worldwide. This was an awesome feat for a then unknown 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Derby. Heâs since toured with Corinne Bailey-Rae and John Mayer, played alongside his hero Cat Stevens, performed at the concert for Diana (amongst other huge events), had a Top 30 album in the US and won a Brit Award for best Male in 2007 where he was nominated for three gongs. A fairytale start to anyoneâs career.
An impeccable and committed performer, James has spent most of his time over the last 24 months on tour across the globe, playing in America, Australia, Europe and Asia where he won over many fans. His trademark vocal also caught the ears of Atlantic Records legend Jerry Wexler who described his voice as one âyouâll forever recogniseâ.
Jamesâs new album Songs For You, Truths For Me will be released on September 29th.
