British pop pioneers Goldfrapp release their brand new single ‘Alive’ through Mute on 24th May 2010.
A joyous summer rush of anthemic escapism, ‘Alive’, written and produced by band mates Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, follows ‘Rocket’ as the second single to be taken from the duo’s fifth album Head First which MOJO described as “Alison and Will go stadium… an album of classic pop.”
Head First is Goldfrapp's most powerful trip to date, a speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance. With life affirming lyrics and stellar production it lifts off at full tilt and takes us on a journey to the heart of 2010.
Out now on CD and 180gram vinyl (with free poster and CD of the album), Head First will have a limited cassette release through independent stores for Record Store Day. Limited to 500, the cassette will be available on Saturday 17 April.
Goldfrapp will take Head First to the T in the Park, Oxegen and V festivals this summer and on their own tour later in 2010 - following the massive acclamation for both the Supernature and Seventh Tree tours and festival appearances around the world, Goldfrapp have underlined their reputation as one of the most transcendent and inventive live bands around.
