‘Satisfied’ is the next masterful pop outing for man of the moment Esser. Coming on like a perfect piece of dancehall klezmer, the piano laden intro leads you into a tale of woe from a boy who just can’t please his girl.

“You know it’s hard to please a woman, she’ll put you on your knees and make you cry. And even when you say ‘I love you’, she’s still not satisfied”

Replete with handclaps, tambourines, reggae beats and calypso-style steel drum sounds, ‘Satisfied’ even sounds like it’s playing on ’78 in 1954 - complete with crackles.

So, a touch of nostalgia from one of the UK’s most promising songwriters? Not likely, Esser takes all these references and turns them into something fresh, innovative and completely captivating.

And it’s a wise head that acknowledges that: “You know a man can never win, even if you can buy her all the shoes, so when you play the game of love, my friends, it’s a game you’ll always lose.”

Remixes come from the steel city’s whippersnapper Toddla T who has turned in a 21st Century dance hall ragga mix and the legendary dub producer Mad Professor.

Produced with Lexxx, sidekick of the A-List mixer Mark ‘Spike’ Stent (U2, Madonna) – Esser’s debut album will be released in April 2009.

Having just finished his headline UK tour, which included a show at the Liverpool Barfly as part of this year’s BBC Electric Proms, supporting Bloc Party at the Q Awards show and Foals as part of the Gonzo tour and, Esser has just been confirmed as the main support for the Kaiser Chiefs upcoming UK stadium tour.
