A Los Angeles native and Brooklyn, NY resident, Elle Varner has been cultivating her musical talents for as long as she can remember. The daughter of songwriters Mikelyn Roderick and Jimmy Varner, she spent the majority of her childhood in and around recording studios, with music being an ever-present force.
A multi-instrumentalist, Elle began playing the flute at 6 years old and the piano at aged 9 before teaching herself the guitar while at high school. A consummate songwriter too, Elle penned her first song at 15 - while studying at The Academy Of Music at Hamilton High School that saw her earn a coveted place in New York University’s Clive Davis Program of Recorded Music, a spot that only admits 24 students per class out of the thousands of applicants received.
An astute student, she was awarded "most likely to get signed" and "most likely to win a Grammy." upon graduating in 2009. Fast-forward to the present and Elle finds herself a well-rounded and cultured singer-songwriter that has the dexterity and promise to stand the test of time with her refreshing and organic sound.
Under the management of MBK Entertainment and a record deal with RCA Records, Elle has flourished. Her quirky yet sassy musicality has attracted a huge viral buzz, ‘Only Wanna Give It To You’ has notched up over 3 million YouTube views, debuted for the first time in the Billboard R&B charts and the recently released mixtape ‘Conversational Lush’ has been highly praised.
‘Only Wanna Give It To You’ is the first cut to be taken from her debut album Perfectly Imperfect (due later this year) and gives you a window into what is to come from the exceptionally talented Elle Varner.
