Young and sexy, cool and sweet – Demi Lovato returns to the UK shores this Spring with her US #1 album ‘Here We Go Again’.
Following on from her US platinum debut release ‘Don’t Forget’, the Californian singer/actress will be releasing ‘Here We Go Again’ on February 22nd through Hollywood/Fascination Records, preceded by the first single ‘Remember December’ on February 15th.
‘Remember December’ is a catchy power-pop-rock tune, showing that Demi has evolved from her Disney roots and is fully embracing that inner rock chick.
On her 2008 US platinum debut album, ‘Don’t Forget’, Demi collaborated with long-time friends and tour mates the Jonas Brothers, while ‘Here We Go Again’ finds her branching out as a writer collaborating with successful US male artist John Mayer and singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin on some tracks.
Demi notes, “When I was younger, my influences were R&B, like Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight, and even Billie Holiday. More currently, my inspirations were John Mayer and Kelly Clarkson, so I wanted to combine the two, and hopefully we did that with this record. Of course, I was so excited to work with John Mayer.”
On ‘Here We Go Again’, the title track is an irresistible, upbeat number. Demi takes it up a notch again on the hard-rockin’ ‘Got Dynamite’, whilst elsewhere ‘Solo’ is sweet-pop perfection. Demi also writes again with Nick Jonas on the soulful, searching ‘Stop the World’ and she switches the tempo down on the spare, breathy ‘Catch Me’ written in a rare quiet moment at home on her guitar
Demi had high hopes for ‘Here We Go Again’. “I wanted not only to make a great album, but I also want my music to inspire people, to help them get through whatever they’re going through in their lives. That’s the ultimate goal with every piece of music I make.”
