Ben Montague kicks off the New Year with the release of his new single and debut album. The epic new single ‘Deep End’ is released on January 20th and will be followed the day after with his debut album ‘Tales Of Flying And Falling’ on 21st January through Nusic Sounds/EMI.
The stunning video for ‘Deep End’ was filmed in Sussex on West Wittering beach and sees Ben playing the piano in the sea. The video will be premiered exclusively on VEVO from November 26th.
‘Deep End’ is taken from Ben’s debut album that has been two years in the making. 'Tales Of Flying And Falling' was written by Ben plus a host of notable contributors including Iain Archer (Snow Patrol), James Walsh (Starsailor) and Jim Duguid (Paulo Nutini), and was produced by Dave Eringa who oversaw many of the classic Manic Street Preachers albums.
It’s an album that does justice to Ben’s sweet, soulful vocals, to his emotional songwriting, and his epic, ‘lighters-aloft’ pop.
Ben Montague is one of the most hotly tipped British singer/songwriters. His last single was an A-List song on Radio 2 and saw him perform the single on BBC Breakfast. Over the past year he has also been picking up celebrity fans from Lawson to Emeli Sandé and The Wanted.
The album includes the previous single ‘Love Like Stars’, a joyous, widescreen pop-rock song that captures that glorious moment when you can’t think of anyone else.
‘Already Leaving’ is a strings-drenched song about a relationship hitting the rocks that sweeps you up in its majestic chorus and, lyrically, drops you back down to earth with a bump. ‘Another Hard Fall’ is a fabulous pop ode to bracing oneself for tough times.
The relationship is rekindled on the sun-soaked ‘Liberty Road’, with its insistent, toe-tapping bassline, can’t-stop-smiling chorus and lovely guest vocal from Lucie Silvas.
Ben is currently gearing up for a promotional trip around Europe where the album is being released early nextyear.
