Monday November 10th sees the release of âThe Boy Does Nothingâ â the fantastic new single from UK superstar Alesha Dixon.
âThe Boy Does Nothingâ is the first single to be taken from the forthcoming album âThe Alesha Showâ which comes out on November 17th.
âThe Boy Does Nothingâ is an irresistible smash-in-waiting which ranks at 5.5 on the mambo Richter scale and has already been described by Popjustice as âbrilliant, epic and incredible in every respectâ.
Simultaneously one of the classiest, sassiest and most perfect pop singles for years âThe Boy Does Nothingâ tells the tale of an inept, two-left-footed fella whose experience of rug-cutting begins and ends with a Saturday job at Allied Carpets. âI adore the line âif the man canât dance, he gets no second chanceâ,â Alesha says. âI love to be impressed by somebodyâs dance skills.â
The deeply glamorous video for âThe Boy Does Nothingâ was directed by the superb Michael Gracey, right hand man to the legendary Baz Luhrmann, and Art Director of Moulin Rouge.
Alesha describes the song as âbottled happinessâ and is the sort of exciting jamboree weâve come to expect not just from Alesha but from the songâs producers â Brian Higgins and his Xenomania team â pop maestros behind artists like Girls Aloud, Gabriella Cilmi and Sugababes â but while it hits the pop bullseye itâs also a brilliantly left of centre, effervescent introduction to an album which dips its toe effortlessly across a plethora of music styles from 60s R&B and perfect pop, right through to classic ballad, while documenting lifeâs ups, lifeâs downs and lifeâs sideways bits.
