With smash hit after smash hit and gold selling album fast approaching platinum, Alesha Dixon’s brand new single ‘Let’s Get Excited’ is set to continue her reign at the top of the UK charts (she’s had a hit in the Top 20 for the last 20 weeks non-stop!).
Co-written and produced by Redzone - the team responsible for a string of global hits including Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’, Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ and Usher’s ‘Moving Mountains’, the song was written and recorded across two sessions in London and LA. The result is a funked up hi-tempo pop anthem packed with catchy riffs and nifty lyrical hooks: ‘I’m a detective, I’m all over you’…
Over the past six months Alesha’s status has rocketed to superstardom. Since shimmying her way into the charts with ‘The Boy Does Nothing’ and ‘Breathe Slow’, she has: sold over 750,000 records; been a personal guest of Gordon and Sarah Brown at Downing Street (Mr Brown dubbed her ‘a national treasure’); and most recently completed an awe inspiring epic climb to the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro helping raise over £3 million for Comic Relief.
Alesha is one of a few UK artists also enjoying international success with ‘The Boy Does Nothing’: sitting in the continent’s Top 10 airplay for 4 months; hitting the Top 5 iTunes charts and debuting straight in at No.2 on the French charts this week.
‘Let’s Get Excited’ is the third single release from the album ‘The Alesha Show’ and is out on Monday 11th May with a video choreographed by Tone Talauegato (the silhouette iPod commercials, Pink and Madonna’s recent tours and Madonna and Justin Timberlake’s ‘4 Minutes’). The release coincides with her support dates for Enrique Inglesias on his UK tour. Fans will also be able to catch her live this summer at the Isle of White and V Festivals.
