Monday 9th February sees the release of the second single from Alesha Dixon – the stunning ‘Breathe Slow’.

Taken from the sensational debut album ‘The Alesha Show’ and following hot on the heels of her recent Top 5 smash single ‘The Boy Does Nothing’ which is still riding high in the Top 10 for its sixth week. ‘Breathe Slow’ is a beautifully crafted tale of heartbreak, set to kick off 2009 in style.

Recorded at the Quincy Jones’ legendary Westlake Studios (where the world’s best-selling album ever was recorded – Thriller), ‘Breathe Slow’ was written by music maestros Soulshock & Karlin and Harold Lilly.

These renowned writers and producers have been responsible for hits from some of the biggest superstars in music including Usher, Destiny’s Child, Whitney Houston, Mary J Blige and Alicia Keys. ‘Breathe Slow’ also has their super slick signature production all over it making it a world class R&B ballad.

Of the lyrics Alesha says “It’s about those moments in life when you want to lash out but you don’t because getting angry would empower someone else, so instead you empower yourself by staying cool.”  As the song says: “I am gonna breathe slow, count from one to ten with my eyes closed, 'cos ladies take it in and get composure, ladies never lose composure“.

The video for ‘Breathe Slow’ is an elegantly shot monochrome epic tale of heartache set among the bright lights of Las Vegas. Alesha looks absolutely stunning in this gorgeous and emotional performance which is guaranteed to send pulses racing.

From dancing queen to showgirl, Alesha is on a fast track to becoming Britain’s new pop Goddess. Even the Prime Minister has described her as a National treasure – with a huge single and gold album already under her belt 2009 certainly looks set to be her year!
