Fresh from supporting NKOTBSTB, A Friend In London release their debut single Get Rich In Vegas.
The quartet, hailing from Denmark, can already count on huge support from their home crowds, and their recent slot with New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys has ensured a host of new fans internationally.
With their new single, the band firmly place themselves as masters of anthemic indie-pop. Uplifting and empowering , with its steady heartbeat-baseline driving an instantly memorable hook, Get Rich In Vegas encourages you to grab life by both hands and live in the moment.
The band, who regularly tour Canada and the States, first came to the attention of their current management after taking part in the Bodog Million Dollar Battle of the Bands and making it to the final 10 Qualifying round in the US. Since then they have toured in both North America and Europe and are set for a summer of Festivals in their native Denmark.
Formed at school in 2005, Denmark’s A Friend In London are four talented friends who deftly combine the complex alternative and indie influences of their youth with a boy-band pop sensibility.
Tim, Ben, Ash and Seb have all had music in their veins from an early age, and the result is a debut album full of tune after unerringly catchy, rock-influenced tune.
With the entire band in their early 20s, they’re as sharply-defined by their instrumental prowess as by their live performances. Lead singer Tim and Seb share lead guitar and powerful chords, while Ash on the bass and Ben’s rock-inspired drumming hold down the rhythm section. Their live shows led to A Friend In London winning the European Final of the BODOG Million Dollar Battle Of The Bands in 2008, which in turn has seen the band touring worldwide.
In 2012 A Friend In London are looking to define their own place in the mainstream music scene. Having appeared at Canadian Music Week in March, the band were then announced as the main support act on NKOTBSB’s European arena tour, reaching out to a far wider group of fans than ever before.
Debut European single ‘Get Rich In Vegas’ perfectly encompasses the band’s musical horizons. Over stadium-style chanting A Friend In London marry strong pop harmonies to vibrant, vital rock rhythms, while Tim’s yearning, emotive lyrics provide hidden depth and story "The inspiration for my lyrics always comes straight from my heart".
Their forthcoming debut album was recorded in Canada and has been produced by the celebrated Dave Bottrill, who has previously worked on blockbusting albums by the likes of Muse, Placebo and Smashing Pumpkins.
