The Document Film Concert Under The SeaUK Release Date: May 28th 2007 By Dramatic EntertainmentOn October 2nd 2006 Katie Melua performed a concert at the bottom of the North Sea. This 66 minute documentary film tells the story of that performance - from the conception of the dream by the gas platform manager, the planning, Katie and her bands rigorous safety training, the behind the scene logistics of moving 22 tonnes of equipment from land to the bottom of the rig and concludes with some footage of the actual concert.A stunning (and at times claustrophobic!) viewing experience, this exciting non-fiction film shot in and off the coast of Norway sees world superstar Katie Melua rising to a challenge. Invited by Statoil, the gas drilling company, to celebrate their 10th anniversary on the biggest man-made structure ever moved on Earth, Katie (after checking their environmental record) agreed to perform on the North Sea floor at the foot of a leg of the enormous drilling platform, thereby incidentally setting the Guinness World record for the deepest underwater concert ever performed - 303 metres below the sea.The event was certainly a logistical challenge - 16 helicopters and 3 supply ships transported 22 tonnes of equipment plus crew the event and TV production crew numbered 33 with Katie and her band and crew totalling 10.
