'When I Believe’ is the first single from The Robbie Boyd Band’s new EP ‘Spring Generation’.
Having already received support from Graham Norton and Paul O'Grady at BBC Radio 2, the track follows a very successful campaign for Robbie’s first EP, ‘Autumn’s Flown’, which culminated in a sell-out headline show for its launch at The Borderline.
Both singles from the previous EP received national radio support via Graham Norton and Paul O’Grady at BBC Radio 2, Dave Gorman at Absolute Radio, as well as support from 6 Music, Q Radio and many regional BBC stations.
‘Spring Generation’ is a a collection of upbeat ballads with a catchy, sing along choruss, filled with pop hooks and a glorious burst of harmonic sunshine to finish.
The band have accumulated over 420,000 YouTube views on their channel plus an international following of more than 8,000 Facebook fans for their infectious brand of folk pop. On the live front, they have supported The Kooks at Harvest at Jimmy’s, Delays at the 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and Johnny Flynn at Get Loaded in the Park.
More recently they sold out The Borderline and headlined Trafalgar Square in front of thousands of people, which has led to bookings at Bristol Folk Festival, London Folk Festival, Wilderness Festival and Just So Festival amongst others.
A UK tour in May this year saw The Robbie Boyd Band extend their fan base outside of London and in August, Robbie took his band of eclectic musicians to Germany, adding to the list of European countries they have already toured.
Online press have been quick to give enthusiastic and high profile support to new comers The Robbie Boyd Band, with homepage coverage on MySpace, a Muzu Recommends Breaking Artist listing on the front page, plus a New & Noteworthy feature in the singer/songwriter section of iTunes.
It’s all part of an impressive first two years for The Robbie Boyd Band, which has also included unreleased tracks ‘Oh Alaska’ and ‘New Hampshire’ being played on BBC Radio 2, and Robbie being selected as a finalist for the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville. The band also performed a live session for Jo Good's Late Show on BBC London Radio.
