The Japanese Popstars

The Japanese Popstars, purveyors of raucous, foot-stomping, energetic electronic dance music, are gearing up for an unusual 2012 season - ditching the rule book and going for a whole new adrenalin-fed-tyre-shredding direction.  The band  will be putting pedal to the metal with their ‘Supersonic 7’ Series.

This will be comprised of seven key events, made up of music, live events and merch throughout the year. These will all have a Formula 1 / racing theme tying them together.   This concept will weave in with the Caterham F1 Team partnership that the band have recently entered into - an industry first.

The first ‘Supersonic 7’ Series  will be the ‘RS27’ EP (impact date April 9th).  The new track was created using the sound of Renault's RS27 engine (courtesy of Renault Sport and the Caterham F1 Team), which powers the Caterham F1 car.

The EP will also feature two new club tracks; ‘Bopper’ with its pounding tech-electro, and minimal glitch-fest ‘Static’. The EP will be made available on March 18th to coincide with the first race of the Formula 1 season in Australia.

The Japanese Popstars have recently entered into a partnership with Caterham F1 Team.

This is new concept for a Formula 1 Team and a first in the music industry.  Their track ‘RS27’ will be Caterham F1’s official track to launch the new team.  The Caterham F1 team kicked off their new season by producing a film of their car on track.

It features The Japanese Popstars track, ‘Shells Of Silver’, plus brand new track, ‘RS27’.

Throughout the year the band will putting out further tracks which will provide the soundtrack to Caterham F1’s entire 2012 season.

In return Caterham F1 will be putting The Japanese Popstars logo on the car, providing the band with visuals for their videos and use of their cars for promotional purposes.

The band and F1 team will also be working together on official After-Race Events at key races during the season, more details soon.

The Japanese Popstars are Gary Curran, Declan ‘Decky’ McLaughlin and Gareth Donoghue. These three lads from Northern Ireland have been racking up the air miles, carving out a global reputation to rival the biggest names in dance music.
