2008 has already been a busy year for 23 year-old debut artist Jack McManus and it shows no sign of slowing.

Having spent the last two months on the road with Sam Sparro and Amy MacDonald, Jack will head out with US singer-songwriter John Mayer before hitting the summer festival circuit for V Festival, T in the Park and Oxygen among others.

On top of this Jack is also preparing to release You Think I Don’t Care on July 14th, the second single from his debut album Either Side Of Midnight.

You Think I Don’t Care is a slice of upbeat, piano-led ‘guilty pleasure’ perfection from this multi-instrumentalist and Brit School graduate.

Jack’s musical life started long before he joined Amy et al at the Croydon school. Since he was in nappies, this curly haired Bromley boy toured the world with bands including Pink Floyd with his father who took care of the band’s huge pyrotechnic display.

Taken with the idea of making a bang, Jack’s first instrument of choice was a drum kit but by the time he reached the Brit School (via a detour as a tennis champion) he had moved on to the trumpet.

From the trumpet Jack progressed to the piano and although he still writes all his melodies on brass, it’s hard to imagine him anywhere else than behind his piano.
