Monday 15th February sees Glee: The Music: Volume 1 rush released due to incredible public response.  Glee has fast become the phenomenon of 2010– with the TV show bursting onto UK screens in spectacular form.

Already a huge hit in the States, Glee’s launch on E4 saw 1.3million viewers tuning in. Crowned Best TV Show (Comedy/Musical) at this year’s Golden Globe Awards, the soundtrack to the series has also created a complete revolution in music sales.

“Don’t Stop Believin’”, the Journey hit sung by the cast in the first episode, exploded on iTunes in the US selling over 600,000 copies and entering The Billboard Hot 100 at  #4. With new tracks released on the back of each new episode, the Glee cast has accumulated over 4 million download track sales.
 
Glee: The Music Volume 1 success story is now continuing in the UK. The anthem “Don’t Stop Believin’” is at #2 in the singles chart with eight other Glee cast tracks already tackling the top 100.

Glee: The Music: Volume 1 is the first collection of the cast’s fantastic, fresh and unique versions of classic songs taken from all areas of popular music. The soundtrack album includes the Glee cast’s versions of Kanye West’s “Gold Digger”, Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab”,  Queen’s “Somebody To Love”, Billy Idol’s “Dancing With Myself” and Rihanna’s “Take A Bow” along with showstoppers “Defying Gravity” from Wicked and “Maybe This Time” from Cabaret.
