Girls Aloud release their new single ‘Can’t Speak French’ on March 17th through Fascination Records. On the single, Nicola, Cheryl, Sarah, Kimberley and Nadine slow the tempo down despite singing they will ‘let the funky music do the talking.’ Together with Xenomania, they cut’n’paste a mix of sounds and styles to create another irresistible pop classic in the making. The CD single of ‘Can’t Speak French’ will include the previously unreleased song ‘Hoxton Hero’. On the back of only a few lucky fans and critics hearing the track, it has already established itself as a cult favourite. ‘Hoxton Hero’ is bound to cause controversy as the feisty five give us their take on the indie scene.‘Can’t Speak French’ will be Girls Aloud’s 17th single to date. It is the follow up to ‘Call The Shots’ which, after its release in November 2007, became one of the girls most successful singles so far topping the national radio airplay chart and staying in the top ten for two months. Both singles are taken from the album ‘Tangled Up’, which was welcomed as a pop masterpiece when it was released last November and has proved to be one of the band’s most successful releases. The album went straight into the top five of the album charts and has built on the success of their 2006 greatest hits, in typical Girls Aloud style bucking the trend that sees most pop bands claim their biggest success with a hits package. And after five albums the girls have received their first Brit nomination for Best British Group alongside the likes of Take That and Arctic Monkeys.Girls Aloud will be on the road in May performing at arenas across the country as part of the Tangled Up tour. The 22 date tour kicks off in Belfast on May 3rd. Full list of dates and ticket prices can be found at www.girlsaloud.co.uk
