Crooning has always been Georgina's passion. Growing up in Wigan she firstly developed a love of Frank Sinatra and vintage music through learning the trumpet, with which she proceeded to have a very successful career.
After a short stint as a Primary School teacher, Georgina decided to follow her heart, put a frock on, go to the front of the stage and sing.
To her amazement, people seemed to really enjoy her 'croonette' vocal style. She soon became the resident vocalist with the Ronnie Scotts Jazz Orchestra and began to appear regularly at Jazz venues around London.
An appearance on Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night encouraged Georgina to spend her savings and record some tracks with a Big Band and String section at Abbey Road studios.
Unfortunately, one month after the recording session Georgina was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had to shelf all dreams of singing to undergo treatment. The treatment was thankfully successful and now Georgina is back performing the music she loves.
Sitting at home one day Georgina decided to dig out her recordings and release one of her beautiful tracks as a single on ITunes.
Without a record company or big publicity drive, Georgina's single 'Change Partners' entered the Jazz charts at number 7 and whilst she was cooking the tea it climbed to Number 1, knocking Nina Simone of the top spot! There was no party apparently, just an extra Yorkshire pudding!
Georgina‘s highly anticipated new album ‘Watch What Happens’ showcases Georgina’s beautiful, rich and wonderfully expressive voice on performances of timeless Jazz standards with exciting new arrangements.
The album features a cheeky jazzy dancey version of the 70's disco classic from Captain and Tennille 'Love Will keep us together' and Paul Simon's 70's cult ballad "Still crazy after all these years".
