Gabrielle Aplin - English Rain

Gabrielle Aplin will release her debut album for Parlophone Records on April 29th. Entitled English Rain, the album will be preceded by her second single Please Don’t Say You Love Me on February 11th, and supported by a full UK tour in March.

A whip smart self taught 20 year old singer songwriter from Bath, Gabrielle has been writing and recording songs since she was 15. Growing up in a (self confessed) ‘hippy’ household where music was a family staple, she honed her craft listening to Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen and Nick Drake.

At 17 she set up her own label Never Fade Records and went on to release 3 EPs, all of which charted on iTunes, and the videos to which have amassed in excess of 19.1 million YouTube views to date.

On her song writing Gabrielle says, "It can take minutes, hours or weeks. Each one is different, but I’ve been working on this album now for months, from writing to recording - even being involved with the artwork - and I can’t wait for everyone to finally hear it."

Already tipped for success in 2013, Gabrielle was asked to submit her version of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s The Power Of Love for potential use in the John Lewis Christmas tv ad.

Her version was chosen and charted at 1 on the singles chart on Sunday 9th December - a first for John Lewis.

Gabrielle has announced her 7th UK tour, starting on the 13th March in Glasgow at King Tut’s and finishing in the Pavilions in Falmouth on the 27th March. She will play London’s KOKO on the 20th March.
