Eliza Doolittle* isn’t your average pop-star, her unique writing style sets her apart from the rest.

It’s a phrase you’ve probably heard many times, but Eliza has the ability to write a great pop song, whilst staying true to herself.

Born and bred in North London, and one of 9 siblings, the Arsenal supporting, poker playing *19 year old* has been writing songs and playing the piano since she was a young child. Music has always come naturally to Eliza - her teenage years aren't even up yet, and she's already got a collection of over 50 songs under her pint-sized belt.

A fan of Burt Bacharach as much as she is of UK garage, Eliza is inspired on the one hand by CS Lewis and Sebastian Faulks, and on the other by Tim Rice and Gilbert and Sullivan. Eliza’s music is eclectic as her influences. Touching on everything from drugs, child abuse and homelessness, to relationships, romance and rollerskates, she sounds like a cross between Christina Aguilera and *Neneh Cherry,* doing *Carole King*. A dab hand at the twisted pop song with edge, Eliza Doolittle wouldn't know formula if it stopped her in the street, topless in a pink tutu. Unsurprising then, that she should be picked up by one of the Uk's most successful and forward-thinking management companies around: atc - home to *Radiohead, Kate Nash, Hadouken and more.*

Eliza Doolittle is currently working on her debut album, due for release later this year. Recorded part in New York, part in London, she has worked with some of the greatest studio whiz kids on both sides of the Atlantic. From the legendary *Commissioner Gordon (Lauryn Hill)* and the hot-new-kids-on-the-block, to Uk hip hop's *Al Shucks (Sway)* and the up and coming *Truth & Soul (Jay-Z, Adele).* Among the tracks already laid down*, *is 'running for life' which* will feature in the forthcoming film 'Adulthood'* - the sequel to the cult, critically acclaimed ‘*Kidulthood’.*

The first cut to be released from Eliza's forthcoming album will be *‘Piano Song’*. A stripped down ode to the simplest form of memory, the melodic and folky, yet hip-hop influenced, piano song showcases Eliza's musicianship as much as her quirky lyricism and captivating vocals.

It’s not just on record that Eliza cuts it but live too. Drawing you in with her arresting stage presence, and her electrifying voice. Doolittle is one of the most *charismatic live acts you will see in 2008*. Confident without being cocky; she delivers her music simply and without pretension, just real true emotion.

Eliza Doolittle’s piano song will be released digitally on 1 July.
