Sony Music are pleased to announce the release of ‘ELVIS 75’, the ultimate career-spanning collection that celebrates the 75th birthday of ELVIS Presley and the life and music of the world’s first rock and roll star. The three CD, 75 song collection will be released on Monday 4 January 2010, four days before what would have been The King’s 75th Birthday.
This is the first major Elvis Presley retrospective to cover the artist’s biggest hits in the UK. Covering the full spectrum of his world-changing career, ‘ELVIS 75’ demonstrates Presley at his best. The three CD collection runs from ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ – the classic that first made Elvis’ name in the UK back in 1956, to the hugely popular ‘A Little Less Conversation’ – the #1 JXL remix that was released in 2002 and reaffirmed the British adoration for the hip-swivelling King of rock’n’roll.
Offering fans an unprecedented range of essential material, ‘ELVIS 75’ provides a generous selection of the biggest UK smash hits, encompassing many genres and amazingly all 75 of these songs were Top 20 hits!
Released simultaneously will be ‘ELVIS 75 – Good Rockin’ Tonight’. A four disc set featuring 100 songs of Elvis Presley’s top international hits. This lavish box set includes an 80-page booklet featuring many rare photographers and a new essay by musical and cultural critic Billy Altman (Rolling Stone, The New Yorker).
