Great British rocker Dave Edmunds returns on September 22nd with a new album âThe Many Sides of Dave Edmunds - The Greatest Hits and More'.
Including hits like âThe Sabre Danceâ and âI Hear You Knockingâ, the album chronicles an illustrious career spanning four decades. Drawing on his solo work as well as material recorded with Love Sculpture and Rockpile, âThe Many Sides of Dave Edmundsâ includes all Daveâs finest moments as well as previously unreleased tracks âEvery Time I See Herâ and âI Got The Willâ.
One of Britainâs most-respected guitarists, songwriters and producers, Daveâs career has been filled with variation and contrast. 1968âs guitar freakout âThe Sabre Danceâ (with Love Sculpture) reinvented Khachaturian for the hippy generation, while vintage blues belter âI Hear You Knockingâ spent six weeks at the top of the UK charts and even claimed the 1970 Christmas no. 1 spot. It was also a major hit in the U.S.
Having recently returned to the limelight at the Mojo Awards, where he presented a Mojo Legend gong to Grammy award winning blues singer Irma Thomas, this collection serves as a timely reminder of Daveâs talents.
Other highlights include UK no. 4 single âGirls Talkâ, and rockabilly classic âI Knew The Brideâ, both with Rockpile, and âEvery Time I See Herâ an upbeat, power pop anthem never before released in the UK.
Dave has a couple of live dates lined up for the coming months, performances that will see him reunited with such old friends as Joe Brown, Jools Holland and Mark Knopfler. See below for details.
