‘One’ is the new EP from Charlotte Church. It will be released digitally on 3rd September and physically on 15th October 2012 on her own label Alligator Wine Records and is the first in a series of EP's that Charlotte will release over the next twelve months.
Ms Church’s musical evolution continues and ‘One’ reflects this with a new, edgy, alt rock sound that melds big vocals, big guitars and big drums.
The EP opens with the epic and beautiful ballad ‘The Rise’ over which Charlotte’s vocals soar, while the anthemic ‘Say It’s True’ is a more up tempo affair driven by hypnotic marching drums.
The intriguingly titled third track, ‘How Not To Be Surprised When You’re A Ghost’, oozes melancholia and is inspired by Nabokov's 'Pale Fire'.
The cinematic closing track ‘Beautiful Wreck’ builds dramatically throughout with drums, guitars, strings and brass.
