Meet 23 year old, half Persian and half French, Manchester born and raised singer-songwriter and musician, Anisa. Signed to Alwayz Recordings she’s set to enchant you with her refreshing and organic sound.
Releasing her debut EP titled Music as a free download on the 2nd July, these five poignant and simultaneously soulful tracks showcase Anisa’s talents with an acoustic approach.
An impressive introduction, Music EP is a collection of expertly crafted songs that allows the barest exposure of Anisa’s musical ability through minimal instrumentation and production...just Anisa and her piano.
A heartfelt slice of soul can be found on ‘Dominoes’ while the candid ‘Lonely’ and relatable ‘New Song’ showcase Anisa’s pop sensibility. A touching cover of Whitney Houston is offered up on ‘Run To You’ and lead track ‘Music’ features chart-topping rapper Wretch 32, fusing emotive piano composition with sincere lyrics.
A classically trained pianist, Anisa's passion for music has been firmly ingrained from an early age - she started piano lessons at the age of 6, and penned her own songs not long after. By the age of 15 Anisa began recording her own self-written demo’s at local studios in Manchester.
Then while studying for her degree in International Management and French (which she speaks fluently and also songwrites in) at Manchester University, she was introduced to Alwayz Recordings, who, blown away by her musical ability, signed her to their label and management company on the spot.
From that moment on Anisa divided her time between finishing her degree in Manchester, and writing and recording in London, New York and LA. Having now worked with a range of A-list producers - from H-Money (Maroon 5, Kelly Rowland) to Andrea Martin (Leona Lewis, Angie Stone) - and drawn on a wide range of influences - from Bach and Ravel to Alicia Keys and Whitney Houston - Anisa has found a distinctive and timeless sound that she can call her own.
