Hot off the heels of her first UK live performances Alison Sudol (AKA A Fine Frenzy) has announced the release of her next single ‘Almost Lover’ on June 9th.

‘Almost Lover’, taken from A Fine Frenzy’s debut album ‘One Cell In The Sea’, is a song that tells the story of a relationship that was not meant to be. Alison’s performance is stunningly beautiful and is accompanied by the piano and soothing orchestration that never takes away from the clarity of her vocals. Her delivery is highly emotional as she sings about how the relationship she had hoped for is over.

A Fine Frenzy is the music of 22 year-old Alison Sudol. An anglophile at heart Alison grew up on a diet of British music, listing influences such as Radiohead, The Smiths Keane and Coldplay. Her unusual name of A Fine Frenzy is also taken from her love of all things British.

‘A Fine Frenzy’ is taken from a line in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Storytelling is a key part to A Fine Frenzy’s songs and Alison puts this down to a love of English classics.

Alison has been building up a list of impressive fans on her travels. Last year she was handpicked by Rufus Wainwright to open his tour and then became friends with KT Tunstall as they toured the US together.

Charlize Theron became such a fan that she picked the A Fine Frenzy track ‘Come On Come Out’ to be on the soundtrack of her latest movie ‘Sleepwalker’.

Selma Blair picked her as one to watch when she was interviewed by Interview Magazine last year describer the A Fine Frenzy sound as ‘haunting’.

2008 also saw Alison causing a stir at fashion week in New York. In between her own live shows and a performance on the prestigious US Letterman Show, Alison found time to have fittings with both Anna Sui and Prada.

Somehow she also found the time to make her first TV appearance on CSI: New York last year and although music comes first for Alison acting is one area she is keen to explore.
