Boyzone star Mikey Graham has credited his upcoming appearance on a U.K. reality show with helping him deal with the death of his bandmate Stephen Gately.
The Irish singer has thrown himself into practice sessions for Dancing On Ice, which sees celebrities tackle ice skating under the watchful eye of Brit Olympic gold medalists Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean, and Graham is sure Gately - who also took part in the show in 2007 - who passed away in October, will help him through the series.
He says, "In an unusual but good way the show has been like a life raft since Stephen's passing. I'll be thinking of him a lot during this experience. I certainly feel he's here all the time and I hope he'll look out for me while I'm in the competition - and maybe give me a bit of good luck whenever I need it.
"It all feels quite strange but it's comforting to know he'll be looking down on me with a twinkle in his eye."
