Scissor Sisters are set to play their first live shows in the UK for three years when they play a five date UK tour in June. The live dates coincide with the release of their brand new album ‘Nightwork’ which is released on June 28th. The run of dates on this tour includes two nights at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
New Yorkers, Scissor Sisters have a huge live following in the UK which has grown over the years with their incredible live shows. From the early days when they played one of their very first shows at the London club The Cock in 2003 to a tiny audience to arena sized crowds in 2007 when they played a UK tour that included a 3 night run at London’s O2 arena. Scissor Sisters know how to put on a show.
This tour will be the first time Scissor Sisters will be performing tracks from their eagerly awaited new album ‘Nightwork.’ It is the first time the band have worked with an external producer, and all songs were co-produced by the band and Stuart Price. Price is a long-time acquaintance and friend of the band, and occasional collaborator since the Scissors supported his band, Zoot Woman, on tour in 2004.
As well as new songs, Scissor Sisters are also expected to perform tracks from their self-titled debut album, which has sold over 2.5 million copies, and 2006’s ‘Ta-Dah’ album which sold 1.4 million copies in the UK alone.
