23 year old Pierre Lewis is in his own words, a ânon conformistâ, and he certainly proves this on his debut single, Broken. Bucking the trend for guitar lead, indie shoe gazing, Pierre delivers an exquisite slice of pop which celebrates the halcyon days of the great pop single. Co-written by Pierre, the single has been produced by Aaaron Accetta, best known for his work with NSync, Aaron Carter and Debbie Gibson.
Pierreâs musical influences stretch from Burt Bacharach to Elvis to modern day maestros such as Kanye West and P Diddy. "I like a lot of music thatâs around at the moment, but the skill and mastery of writers and crooners from the 60s, 70âs and 80âs really moves me. At school all my mates were listening to drum ânâ bass and Iâd have olâ Burt blaring out. They used to try and steal my cdâs and break them up, but it didnât worry me. Iâve never conformed and I donât think I ever will," Pierre explains.
Stepping up for re-mixing duties we have the one and only Joe 90 and DJ Lauren Pope. Lauren, who enjoys a successful career modelling for some of our biggest newspapers and magazines, has been busy pursuing her greatest love, music. Sheâs spent the last couple of years establishing herself on the jet set DJ circuit. Broken sees her first re-mix offering with Londonâs best, Heatwave.
"Iâm delighted Lauren wanted to remix âBrokenâ says Pierre. Iâd seen her play out and I love her vibe. How we met is quite embarrassing. I was walking down the stairs at a club, looking as cool as I possibly could and I tripped - I tumbled down the stairs and landed at Laurenâs feet. It wasnât quite the entrance I was planning" he recalls, giggling.
