The actor was barely known outside his native Australia until he struck up a relationship with Cyrus on the set of their movie The Last Song last year, propelling him to global fame.
He admits the intense public interest in their romance puts a strain on him - and he often returns to his home country to escape the pressure. Hemsworth says, "It's not easy. I'm not complaining. I don't read the tabloids and coming back to Australia keeps me grounded. It's important to keep my family and good friends close."
