Kris Allen
American Idol star Kris Allen has signed a record deal with Jive for the release of his debut album following his win on the show last month.
Kris has reportedly reached an agreement with 19 Recordings - a division of Jive Records - to release his debut in the USA in the coming Autumn.
In a statement released by Camp Allen, he has said; "As exciting as the last few months have been, I'm really looking forward to what is next,"
And although we don’t know whether the album will contain covers or original hits, he has said that the record will be "very similar" to what he sang on the show, in the pop/rock genre.
All that remains now is to watch whether he can replicate last year’s David Cook / Davis Archuleta success or if he’ll flop like the UK’s Michelle McManus.
