North West DJs Ditchy & Salty and Nathan Moore from 80s boy band Brother Beyond have joined forces with brave injured British soldiers to produce a fantastic new World Cup charity record that will inspire England supporters and raise money for an extremely worthy cause.
‘Bring It Home’ was written by writers Danny Schogger (Ain’t No Doubt – Jimmy Nail) and Colin Campsey (co writer on Pixie Lott tracks) and the song truly reflects their passionate belief that the England team can do us proud this summer in South Africa!
The record is a feel-good summer track that is sure to get people in the mood for the World Cup. However there is also the goal of raisng money for injured soldiers behind ‘Bring It Home’ and in addition to the singing of Ditchy & Salty and Nathan Moore, the track features the vocal talents of soldiers Simon Jones, Andy Grant and Aaron Moon from the Royal Marines Commando Training Centre in Lympstone who are recovering from injuries they received while on tour in Afghanistan.
Simon Jones from the Wirral was badly hurt by an improvised explosive device only six weeks before leaving Afghanistan and for Aaron Moon, from West Houghton, there was a chilling reminder of his injuries when he dressed to perform on the video and saw his bloodied boots.
“It felt good to be back in my military uniform as it had been a while since I’d put them on but I wasn’t able to wear my dessert boots as they were still covered in blood from the day I was injured.”
A real buzz has been building behind ‘Bring It Home’ in the North West thanks to Ditchy, Salty and Nathan’s fine efforts and the track also features leading Darts players Robbie “Kong” Green, Alan “The Saint” Tabern, Alan “Danger Scouse” Green and Stephen “The Bullet” Bunting who were also happy to lend their support.
The video features a host of Real Radio listeners as well as Morris Dancers, Scouts and Ryan Thomas from Coronation Street, with parts filmed at iconic locations including Blackpool Pier and outside the Rovers on the set of Corrie.
Nathan Moore said; “we’re very excited about the song, it’s so catchy, once you’ve heard it a couple of times you can’t get it out of your head! We’d like to thank everyone who’s bought the single so far. We hope fans continue to download it to show they’re supporting the England team and more importantly ‘Help for Heroes’ which is an amazing charity.”
