Cheryl Cole refuses to read about herself in the press - because stories about her personal life leave her feeling "depressed and unconfident".
The Girls Aloud beauty has forged a successful solo career in Britain since joining the judging panel of Simon Cowell's reality show The X Factor in 2008.
She hit the headlines earlier this year when she split from her soccer ace husband Ashley following allegations he had a string of affairs, but Cole has stayed away from the negative news coverage.
She tells Britain's Now magazine, "I don't read the negativity. I got myself into a state for a couple of years where I used to read everything, get depressed and feel unconfident. It's like being bullied - that's the only thing I can relate it to."
