Paparazzo Ghalib was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery and hit and run after the incident in California in February, and at a hearing in Van Nuys on Thursday, Ghalib was granted a continuation until 4 May.

Spears - who romanced Ghalib back in 2007 - was recently granted a restraining order against her ex, banning the snapper from going anywhere near her for the next three years.

Ghalib, as well as Spears' former manager Sam Lutfi, were ruled to have attempted to undermine the singer's father Jamie Spears' conservatorship of her estate.
