Ashlee Simpson-Wentz wants to follow in her big sister Jessica’s footsteps and design her own fashion range.
The singer/actress' career suffered a setback last month when she was dropped from the revamped U.S. TV show Melrose Place.
She has since landed the part of Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago, reprising the role she performed on London's West End in 2006, but she is keen to turn her attention to the fashion industry and launch her own designs.
A source tells Star magazine, "Ashlee wants to start a clothing line. She wants it to be both preppy and punk rock. She thinks she can really succeed in fashion."
Jessica Simpson has established herself as a successful designer with her self-titled label encompassing clothes, shoes, handbags and nightwear.
