Once again, Italiaâs hottest new label, Hell Yeah Recordings pushes all boundaries of the aural soundscape with the timely release of Florian Meindlâs, â8 Bit Romanceâ. Diverse and eclectic, Hell Yeah shies away from being pigeonholed, often wearing its open minded badge proudly, championing the best new music out there now.
Their latest signing, Florian Meindl needs no introduction. The busiest man in Techno has left an indelible mark across the scene with quality releases for labels like Trapez, Flash, Herzblut and Kling Klong. Part of the new wave of young, up front Berlin producers, this hotly tipped production whizz kid possesses an uncanny knack for sound quality, entertaining sets and electronic innovation.
â8 Bit Romanceâ is truly love at first listening. The track was sent over by mistake, with Florian having decided on delivering another track, his remix for Minimow âWhere's My Pill?â instead. This however, turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
What weâve got is a stunning piece of musical craftsmanship, a melodic deep-techno beauty in the imitable Meindl style. And to make it extra special, Hell Yeah have roped in the remixing talents of our very own, âMan of the Momentâ, Matt Edwards AKA Radio Slave, who delivers a whooping 19 minute monster to rival even Villalobosâ epic efforts. A brooding, twisted behemoth that you hear on the pounding floors of Berghain and Panorama Bar on a Sunday morning. Essential stuff.
On the flipside, Meindl gives us a hands on display on the intricacies of modern day techno with âMarbleâ. Deep, hypnotic, no frills. The way it always should be made.
With a growing fan base from fellow luminaries and fans alike, Meindlâs releases have found their way into peak time sets of Locodice, Gregor Tresher, Dubfire, James Holden, Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Koletzki, Davide Squillace, Daso, Martin Eyerer, Len Faki... The list goes on.
Keep on expecting the unexpected.
