The London-based band have quietly sold over 3 million copies of their debut album âHanging Aroundâ worldwide, with thanks to tracks having featured on numerous Bollywood soundtracks. They also had the hit âSabse Bada Rupaiya/Bluffmasterâ which was a Number One smash in India.
Chor Bazaar, due out in the UK in October, was released in India at the beginning of July, on Indiaâs biggest independent label, Saregama. Recorded at Eden studios, produced by Trickbaby, mixed with Emre Ramazanoglu (Prodigy/Shakira) and Dario Dendi (Stereophonics/Kaiser Chiefs/KT Tunstall), the album features guest appearances by Gogol Bordelloâs Eugene Hütz , Marcella Detroit (ex Shakespeare's Sister), Yuri Lemeshev (accordion) and Sergey Ryabtzev (violin).
The first single to come from the album is entitled âNine Parts Of Desireâ, which is also due out this October. The video for the track was produced by Ramesh Sippy (director of Sholay) and directed by his son Rohan (Bluffmaster).
Starring Bollywood superstar Abhishek Bachchan as lead singer Saira's love interest, with Priyanka Chopra (ex Miss World, also a massive Bollywood star) as her love rival, the video is set to be an international hit!
