**Hot Club de Paris announce new album and single details plus May tour**‘Live at Dead Lake’ is the second album from art-pop experimentalists Hot Club de Paris. It will be released on June 16th through Moshi Moshi and expands on the quick-fire tech-ridden pop punk blasts and wit-fuelled commentaries of 2006’s ‘Drop it Til it Pops’. Out on the 26th May, ‘Hey! Housebrick’ is the first single to be taken from the album and the band will be heading out on an extensive tour in May and June (dates below).‘Hey! Housebrick’ is a snappy and concise pop song about a house brick hurtling towards a car’s windscreen. The song documents the creeping claustrophobia of small-town living and the destruction and devastation produced by such negative forces. The song bounds along with perfect pop pace, with Matthew Smith’s trademark shimmering guitar work floating over Paul Rafferty and Alasdair Smith’s punchy rhythms. Lucy and Nicola from Liverpool tweesters Puzzle were called upon for backing vocal duties and dainty handclaps. After spending the entire summer of 2007 in their hometown of Liverpool working on their follow up album, the band called upon Chicago producer Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine, Ugly Cassanova, Sea and Cake, Chin Up Chin Up) to document their new songs. Since Hot Club de Paris embarked upon their punishing tour schedule two years ago (playing with artists and bands such as Jamie T, Maximo Park, Battles, Foals, The Who), they have developed into an almost single-celled organism and have become one of the tightest and entertaining bands in the country. They are touring the UK once again in support of this single and album, and undoubtedly will be gracing the summer rain sodden stages of festivals across the UK and Europe. Here are the dates so far… Hot Club de Paris
