Tom Odell was a "mischievous" and "popular" student, according to his music teacher.
The 'Another Love' star - who won the Critics' Choice prize at this year's BRIT Awards - was always charming and had a fun side, according to Ian Sillet, his songwriting teacher at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM).
Ian says Tom, 22, regularly liked to "crack a joke" at his expense, explaining: "He was mischievous. He'd take the p**s out of me quite happily, which I didn't mind.
"He did it in a way that was respectful but it was funny. He had a sharp wit and we had banter quite often."
The singer/songwriter was popular at the college and Ian says he was no doubt a hit with the female students during his time there.
Ian added to BANG Showbiz: "I'm sure he was [popular with the ladies]. It was difficult for me to see all that from where I was standing. He was just generally popular but I'm pretty sure he must have been."
As well as his music lessons, Tom - who's debut 'Long Way Down' was a number one album in the UK - has previously said having his heart broken was a big influence on his songwriting.
He said: "Having your heart broken makes fucking good songs, it just does. When you're 22 what's the thing you talk to your mates about? What's the thing you think about most when you're trying to sleep at night? It's the girl who won't text you back."
