Sir Elton John thinks Queens of the Stone Age's new album is the "best rock album" in the past five or six years.
The 66-year-old singer heaped praise on the group for their 'Like Clockwork' record after making a guest appearance on the album, and he insists his collaboration with the band is one of the best moments of his career.
He said: "I've never really played on a record with a rock band like that and for me it was one of the most exciting things I've ever done.
"I think it's probably the best rock album by any band in about five or six years."
As well as being impressed with Elton's piano skills, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme was grateful to the music legend for hanging around with the band for three-and-a-half hours after recording his guest appearance.
He said: "We played for three-and-a-half hours. That's how long it took to get it.
"Then he stayed for another three-and-a-half hours and he just talked and hung out and bullsh**ted and stuff like that."
Elton's collaboration with the group came about after he rang Josh and told him he needed an "actual queen" on the album.
