Jordan said: "When we'd finished watching The Wire it was almost like losing a close friend. Being able to have the star of the show on our record was definitely one of those 'pinch myself' moments."
The pop act teamed up with the 43-year-old star - who played detective Jimmy McNulty in the drama - after telling their producer Ant Whiting, who is good friends with Dominic, how much they love the drama series.
Jordan added to The Sun newspaper: "We'd mentioned to Ant about our love for The Wire and he said, 'Yeah, we go way back. He lives round the corner. We should get him to do something on a track.'
"Having Dom in the studio was awesome. Not only did we have a proper laugh making the song, we were able to have some drinks, which was a good opportunity to get to know him and ask him a bucketload of questions."
In the video for 'Put Your Two's Up' - which is produced by Fatboy Slim - Dominic can be seen calling partygoers to the dancefloor as he becomes increasingly slurred while jigging along to the song.
