Haim's bassist claims she "almost died" during their Glastonbury set.
Este Haim had to leave the stage mid-set during the band's performance on the Pyramid Stage at the festival in Somerset, South West England, yesterday afternoon (28.06.13) because the diabetic star's blood sugar was running dangerously low.
She told NME: "I almost died. We were in the middle of a song and I'm diabetic and I didn't eat before my set like a smart, good diabetic does, and I remember not being able to feel my arms, and I was like 'This is not a normal feeling when I'm playing music'.
"My eyes kind of glazed over at the end of the song and I had to go off-stage because I thought that I was going to die in front of 25,000 people."
The 'Falling' hitmaker recovered enough to return shakily to the stage and perform two songs sitting down, later joking it would have been a very poetic and "beautiful" exit, with "an amazing funeral."
Haim are scheduled to play again at 4.15pm on The Park stage this afternoon (29.06.13).
Glastonbury festival - which is sponsored by EE this year - kicked off yesterday with a surprise performance from Beady Eye and saw standout sets from the likes of Jake Bugg, Enter Shikari, The Vaccines and Alt-J.
Highlights of the day included Dizzee Rascal on the Pyramid Stage, who debuted tracks from his new album 'The Fifth' and ended his set by launching himself into the crowd, and Arctic Monkeys hotly-anticipated headline gig.
The band performed all their greatest hits as well as a selection of new songs, including 'Do I Wanna Know?', to an estimated crowd of 90,000 and were joined on stage by Miles Kane for final track '505'.
