Brandon Flowers says The Killers are like a family.
The 'Mr. Brightside' hitmaker believes the indie rock group have managed to stay together for over a decade because they have become as close as brothers, helping them outlive a number of other acts.
Talking to Absolute Radio's Sarah Champion, he said: "I think we all have our ups and downs. It's like family too; you can also draw parallels to brothers and sisters, we love each other like that and we hate each other like that too at times.
"Some people make it, some people don't. Some people make it longer than others, there is no real end day or expiration date; you don't know what is going to happen but I'm really happy that we have lasted as long as we have, really.
"We have already seen in this decade that we have been around, bands come and go; and so we're doing alright."
The band were in the UK to perform at the Isle of Wight festival, surprising fans by introducing a few twists to their usual set list - including a cover of 80s pop star Tiffany's 'I Think We're Alone Now', and a crowd-pleasing version of The Beatles' 'When I'm Sixty-Four'.
Frontman Brandon added: "This Island over here - It was just magic to me and the bands that came out here. And that was what I gravitated towards."
