The Weeknd and Daft Punk are recording together.
The 'Can't Feel My Face' hitmaker - whose real name is Abel Tesfaye - is reportedly teaming up with the French electronic duo on a new song, much to the delight of an executive from the singer's record label.
Speaking during a "hitmakers roundtable" with Billboard, Wendy Goldstein, Republic Records executive VP/head of urban A&R, said: "We have a session coming up in two days with The Weeknd and Daft Punk. I'm a massive Daft Punk fan, and this is the first time that I've actually been involved with an artist who's going to go and work with them."
Fans haven't heard new music from Daft Punk since the release of their last album 'Random Access Memories' which was released in 2013.
The Weeknd has also hinted at the collaboration last week (August 16) when he uploaded a photograph of two Daft Punk action figures sat on top of a speaker on his Facebook page.
And fans have been speculating that The Weeknd is working on a new album, after he posted a photo on August 18 of himself with the caption: "know it's been a while but now I'm mixing up the drink".
Fans were quick to suggest Abel's choice of words "mixing up the drink" is a hint that he is 'mixing up a new album' as earlier that day The Weeknd also uploaded a photo of him in the studio.
Meanwhile 'Get Lucky' hitmakers Daft Punk have worked with numerous musicians for their last album, including; Giorgio Moroder, Panda Bear, Julian Casablancas, Todd Edwards, DJ Falcon, Chilly Gonzales, Nile Rodgers, Paul Williams and Pharrell Williams.
Representatives for The Weeknd and Daft Punk are yet to confirm this new collaboration.
