Corinne Bailey Rae is back with the first official single from her forthcoming album 'The Heart Speaks In Whispers', and has now released the music video for the track, 'Stop Where You Are'.
Encouraging viewers to recognise the beauty in a moment rather than believing happiness is something that can only be attained in the future, the video's shot around London's Southbank, featuring Rae and a cast of striking characters.
Chatting about the song, she explains: "Sometimes we hold our happiness away from ourselves because we're waiting for the perfect moment and we say, 'When I get this job, I'll be happy. When I lose this weight, I'll be happy. When I get a partner, I'll be happy'. So I really wanted to write this song, which is about being in the moment and being present, and stopping and ritualising the moment, celebrating it.
"I love the image of being in darkness and lighting a fire and saying, 'Here we go together. This is life with all its pain, all its agony, all its beauty, all of its joy. This is it, this is what we have, this is the world that we've made!'"
Corinne's new album will be released on May 13 via Good Groove/Virgin EMI and will serve as her first collection of new material in six years.
Recorded in her studio in Leeds and in Los Angeles, Corinne co-produced the record with Steve Brown.
