Vanessa White is back today with her brand new track 'Lipstick Kisses' featuring Wretch 32, taken from her solo debut EP 'Chapter One', which also features three original tunes.
Set to perform her first solo headline show in London at Cargo on March 16, the singer continues to re-climb the rungs of the music industry following her huge success as part of girl group The Saturdays.
Chatting about drawing inspiration from 90s and early 00s music for her current sound, she explained: "It took a long time to find the sound and what was working, but honestly it just came back to what I grew up listening to and what I fell in love with the most - Ashanti, Aaliyah, JoJo."
"I was obsessed with that genre," she continues. "When I say obsessed I was that annoying kid at school, constantly singing with their CD walkman. So anything from that time, the 90s I guess, seems to sit really well with me and my work."
Busy in the studio over the past few months, honing her sound and working on her talent, Vanessa is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming debut solo album and has worked with the likes of Future Cut, Snakehips, Shakka, Kojey Radical and Chloe Martini.
Meanwhile, she promises the visuals for 'Lipstick Kisses' will be coming soon, after recently filming the video.
'Chapter One' the EP is available now on iTunes, with tickets for Vanessa's show at Cargo available at ticketweb.co.uk.
