Vance Joy has been working on his music in a tree house studio.
The Australian singer-songwriter - who has been climbing the charts with his single 'Riptide' which was radio presenter Fearne Cotton's 'Song Of 2013' - has been busy working on his debut album with Ryan Hadlock - who produced The Lumineers.
During his time at Bear Creek Studios, which are located near Seattle, he loved being 20ft up in the air in a unique recording space.
In an exclusive to femalefirst,he said: "I've been in Seattle recording for my album. Now I'm in Illinois - it's cold in America!
"The time I spent in Seattle was really good. We were working in a recording studio called Bear Creek. They actually have a tree house studio, about 20ft up. It was cool to being able to live at the studio. "
Vance is hoping to have many more opportunities in 2014 following the release of 'Riptide'.
He added: "It is probably just riding the wave of having a song that's opening doors for me and enjoying the moment."
Vance is soon to be heading back to his native Australia where he has a string of gigs, before coming to the UK and Europe.
