The Vamps and Sam Smith have been named on MTV's Brand New for 2014 shortlist.
The group along with Bradley Simpson, James McVey, Connor Ball and Tristan Evans - and 'La La La' singer Sam Smith are among the channel's 10 most hotly tipped artists of 2014, as well as the likes of Ella Eyre, Joel Compass and George Ezra.
Speaking at the MTV Brand New presented by Emporio Armani Diamonds announcement at the Drury Club in London's Covent Garden last night (27.11.13), James exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "We are very lucky to be nominated and are very grateful that our fans have been so relentless in promoting us to allow these things to happen."
Ella - who sang on Rudimental's huge hit 'Waiting All Night' and collaborated with Naughty Boy and Wiz Khalifa on their single 'Think About It' - was delighted to be named on the shortlist and paid tribute to her star collaborators for helping her career.
She said: "It's been a great year, it's built up very slowly and to be a part of Rudimental and Naughty Boy's success has been amazing as well.
"But for me this is the beginning, it was a little help along the way this year and it did lots for me but I think next year is the beginning for me."
Elyar Fox - who has been dubbed the new Justin Bieber - is also on the shortlist and he celebrated his nomination by performing at the event shortly before 2011 nominee Wretch 32 took to the stage to wow the crowd with a hat-trick of his hits including 'Don't Go' and 'Blackout'.
The shortlisted artists will go head-to-head in a public vote which opens on December 16 and the winner will be announced in early February 2014.
